Everyone is planning a dream getaway or going on vacation these days. Besides being harassed by TSA, one of the things I dread most is packing my suitcase. After travelling abroad and throughout the US and getting stranded, I have learned a thing or two about packing efficiently. This past weekend, I went on a mini-girls' getaway and my travel mates were amazed by my OG packing skills. Don't fret, I plan to share the wealth. As you jetset across the world, we want to make sure that you have tips and tricks on how to pack your carry-on like a travel pro.

1.Choose a unique suitcase.

There are probably millions of basic black suitcases in the airport circling the luggage carousel as we speak. Shop around for a fun and sassy luggage set that shows your beautiful personality.

2.Make a packing list using the agenda for your trip.

No matter the destination, there are some essentials you must pack regardless:

  • Comfy jeans
  • Nice blouse
  • Graphic Tee
  • Little Black Dress
  • Swimsuit
  • Kimono or moto jacket (dependent on the weather)
  • Pair of pumps
  • Pair of flats
  • Pair of sneakers
  • Hoop earrings
  • Diamond studs

These failsafe items can be mixed and matched various ways to achieve faultless looks. You'll be stylish with little to no effort on your part at all.

5.For every top, pack two bottoms.

You never know how your trip will play out, so it's always great to have options. Since graphic tees are the go-to for spring, also pack a midi-skirt and dark denim jeans to mix it up. Kairee from Ten Key Pieces lives for wardrobe versatility and we love how she styled this Lacson Ravello top from day to night.

6.Place heavier items near the wheels.

Be sure to put your shoes and heavier items near the wheels because it helps with the weight of your suitcase. You don't want it tipping over.

7.Cover shoes with a shower cap or shoe bags.

We don't want the dirt and debris from your shoes to mess up your clothes.

8.Capitalize on the empty space.

This is especially helpful with shoes. Use the inside of your shoes to place jewelry and socks.

9.Stick dryer sheets in your luggage.
