Tia Mowry is choosing self-love as a path to happiness, which may be the reason behind her glow. While she announced on Instagram that she was divorcing her husband of 14 years, Cory Hardrict, she is focusing on herself. In an interview with Access Hollywood, which took place days before she announced her divorce, the mother of two shared the secret behind her recent glow.

“You know what it is, it’s self-love. I’m really, really just focusing on setting boundaries,” she revealed. “I’m in my 40s, and I’m just now learning [how hard it can be]. All of you ladies out there, no matter how old you are, start now! It’s really given me peace and joy.”

Elsewhere in the interview she also opened up about wanting to be an example for her kids. Tia and Cory share two children, Cairo, 4, and Cree, 11 and they regularly appear on her social media pages. The actress has been open about her infertility issues such as being diagnosed with endometriosis and she often uses her platform to bring awareness to it.

“I’ve had infertility issues. I’ve been very open about that so it's been very challenging for me, for both of my children,” she said. “It was very empowering because I never gave up. I worked really, really hard. I had faith and I now have two beautiful children, Cree and Cairo, 11 and 4, and then also during birth, you know, the challenges and the struggles women go through while giving birth, it’s a miracle.”

The Sister, Sister star described herself as a “lioness” when it comes to her kids and she prides herself in showing them that they can achieve anything they put their minds to. “I always say that I feel like a lioness. It’s all about protecting my children but not only protecting my children but being an example for them,” she explained.

“I think that’s most important ‘cause children learn through observation and if they can see that mommy works hard and she goes after her dreams, her goals, her aspirations, she works hard, she stays around positive people who influence her and who lifts her up, you can really do anything.”

Tia and her twin sister Tamera Mowry have both served as positive role models for Black women. Growing up in Hollywood, they avoided controversy and their sisterly bond has been admired by many.

Tia is no stranger to boasting about self-love and self-care and setting boundaries are just another illustration of the Family Reunion star’s personal growth. At 44 years old, Tia reminds us that our journey to peace and freedom is ongoing and every day we should discover how to better ourselves and our environment.
