Nick Cannon has been the topic of conversation over the last year or so due to the number of kids he has helped to conceive. During his marriage to Mariah Carey, the talk show host and the singer had twins Morrocan and Monroe (2011), but over the last few years, Nick has had five more kids and it was just announced that he has another one on the way.

He shares Golden (2017) and Powerful Queen (2020) with former Miss Guam Brittany Bell, a second set of twins Zillion Heir and Zion Mixolydian with DJ Abby De La Rosa (June 14, 2021), and in December, he tragically lost his son Zen (June 23, 2021) whom he shared with model Alyssa Scott after he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus.

Now, that he is having an eighth child with model Brie Tiesi, the 41-year-old decided that it was time to go celibate. During a discussion with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee on his self-titled talk show, Nick opened up about his celibacy journey.

“My therapist was one of the ones who said I should probably be celibate, and the reason why is because I had shared that news about Bre being pregnant,” he said. “And it was like, ‘Yo, I don’t know what to do.’ It felt like–I was trying to get a grasp, I got a new show coming out and that was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then. So for anyone who’s thinking, ‘Oh, he wasn’t celibate,’ I was!”

He added, “I was like ‘Yo, I gotta get my life under control’ because I felt like I was out of control, and honestly that celibacy did help me through the journey of getting one with myself, being able to deal with this (the pregnancy) and so now everybody knows why I was being celibate.”

Nick and Bre held a gender reveal party in Malibu over the weekend where they found out that they were having a baby boy.

This isn’t the first time Nick has chosen to be celibate. During his courtship with Mariah, the former couple abstained from sex before getting married in 2008. "It's not that we had no intimacy, we just didn't have complete intimacy," Mariah toldLondon’s Daily Mirror about their decision. "I definitely don't want to push it on anybody else, but we both have similar beliefs, and I just thought that it would be so much more special if we waited until after we were married. And it was, and it still is."

He became celibate again after their divorce in 2014.

"I'm being celibate; I'm trying to work on myself," he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show in 2015. "No sex right now."

Nick isn’t alone when choosing abstinence. There are others who have practiced celibacy such as Ciara and Russell Wilson, Jordin Sparks, and Nicki Minaj.

Aries-April-2025-monthly-horoscopes

April is a month to slow down and to fully grasp what has been. The month starts in fiery Aries Season, but we are also in the thick of Retrograde Season as we begin the month as well. Thankfully, Mercury finally goes direct on April 7, after being retrograde mid-March, and communication matters are clearing up. This is a month of mental clarity, a fresh start, and not being afraid to dream a little bigger.

On April 12, there is a Full Moon in Libra, and this Full Moon brings relationship and financial matters full circle. This is the time to let go of what doesn’t make you feel balanced or in harmony and to create space for more peace to enter your life. Venus goes direct in Pisces on the same day, after being retrograde since March 1, and love is healing. With Venus now direct, there are more opportunities for commitment and longevity in love, and there is overall a greater feeling of romance, receptivity, and compassion in the air now.

Turns Out Sober Sex Might Be The Underrated Secret To Better Orgasms

Hmph. I know there has got to be at least three times a week when our grandparents will hear about something that folks present as being revolutionary that causes them to just roll their eyes, shrug their shoulders, and continue to go on with whatever they were doing. Listen, call it old-fashioned thinking if you want to but if you want to avoid a lot of unnecessary regret in this life, hang out with your elders (and actually listen to what they are saying) sometimes — they’ve already been where you are and, since when it comes to them, you can’t say the same, you just might get a few gems (in fact, I can almost guarantee it).

Take sobergasms, for instance. Oh, I’m willing to bet that a senior in your life has mentioned them, just in another way, before. If you’ve never heard of the term, it’s actually a pretty good one because it means just what you think it does: SOBER ORGASMS. And just to make sure that we all are on the same page, it’s sex — that hopefully includes orgasms — that involves very little to no alcohol.
