One might be surprised to learn that Kelly Rowland’s "Motivation" to commit to her steamy new role in Netflix’s,Mea Culpa, actually came from her husband.

The R&B songstress recently joined theSherri Shepherd Show ahead of the release of the erotic thriller, Mea Culpa — directed by Tyler Perry — to shed light on her preparation for the film. When asked what set the mood for her sultry scene with co-star Trevante Rhodes, Rowland shared that an intimacy coach helped make the moment less intimidating.

“There was literally an intimacy coach there before this whole scene started — days before we did it,” she told the talk show host. “They just talked to us about what we felt comfortable with, what we didn’t feel comfortable with. So it’s just like, ‘don’t touch here, touch here… it’s very, very specific.”

Rowland shares that in order to get the right mindset ahead of the steamy scene, she confides in her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, for support.

“I remember calling my husband before it started,” to which she said, ‘Honey, it’s going down, it’s gonna happen today.”

The singer says that the news of the intimate scene was met with comforting reassurance from him. “And he was like, ‘Okay, I’m cool.’”

She continues, “My husband is the most secure human being; he is such a G. So he actually made me feel comfortable. He said, ‘If you’re gonna do it, you gotta do it.”

How We Met is a series where xoNecole talks love and relationships with real-life couples. We learn how they met, how like turned into love, and how they make their love work.

One of my favorite things about interviewing married couples and hearing their diverse “How We Met” stories is the way they affirm true love and integral beliefs. One principle that I wholeheartedly believe is that one must truly know and love oneself before effectively doing it for another human being, and Taja Simpson and Ryan Easter’s story affirms this.

12 Naughty (And Nice) Sex Hacks To Make Your Holidays Extra Hot

Years ago, I interviewed a Jewish woman who was married to a Christian man about how they make the holiday season work in their household. As someone who personally doesn’t observe holidays, a particular thing that she said has always stayed with me: “I don’t observe Christmas, but I can support the spirit of the season.”

Yeah, that resolve is something that I can get down with — and since sex is something that I write about, quite often, on this platform, I must admit that I do look forward to sharing some holiday-themed tips and hacks. For instance, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, check out “Here's How You And Your Partner Can Engage In Some 'Gratitude Sex'” from a few years back.
