Content Creator Jazzmyne Jay Gives New Meaning To "A Pop Of Color" In Her Glam Tutorial

Episode 5 "Express Yourself"

This post is in partnership with Ulta Beauty.

Jazzmyne Jay has some pretty epic stories to tell. But even more epic is her approach to beauty. The content creator and model is a firm belever in walking in your truth, which is probably why she's amassed almost a million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Our good sis loves to break the rules when it comes to style and beauty, so our founder Necole Kane sat down with this social media star for a glam tutorial that we'll never forget.

Jazzmyne, who hails from the midwest, recalls growing up as the only biracial kid in her area. Though she didn't have much access to peers who looked like her, what she did have were two loving parents who instilled in her the magic in being different and encouraged her to stand out from the crowd. It was this celebration of uniqueness in Jazzmyne's household that birthed a natural instinct to let her star shine. Besides, she says, trying to fit it in is just too much work. "I am not a good actor," she jokes.

During this fun and out of the box makeup tutorial, Jazz goes for a glamorous beat with a few beloved products from brands like NARS, Fenty Beauty, and Urban Decay. She swaps out classic black eyeliner for a glittery eye look, solidfying that a pop of color is always her signature ingredient to a finished look.

Watch as Necole and Jazzmyne talk makeup, self-expression, and forging your own path in this inspiring episode of Beautiful Soul.

Lawd. Out Of All The Current Dating Trends, 'Floodlighting' Is One Of The Biggest Red Flags.

I remember when I went on my first official date with an ex of mine from back in the day.

Before I decided to do it, I knew that I was attracted to him and that we both had things like poetry, music, and pretty much all things Black culture in common (I also semi-vetted him beforehand because we had some friends in common) — beyond that, though, I didn’t know much. And so, after about 30 minutes into that date, he asked me a particular question, and at the time, I thought that it was beyond thoughtful: “Shellie, what do you look for in a man?”

This Is What It Really Means To Heal Your Relationship With Money

Riddle me this: If money were your partner, what kind of relationship would you be in?

Would the relationship be one that's supportive and secure? Would it be built on things like trust and mutual respect? Or would it be more like a rollercoaster, varying between hot and cold, stressful, ridden with anxiety and insecurity? For a lot of us, the parallels might be parallel-ing, as the relationship we have with money mirrors some of the same unhealthy patterns we’ve had in romantic ones: fear of abandonment, emotional avoidance, lack of boundaries, or the belief that we have to earn our rest, ease, or abundance.
