Quantcast

Early last year, I realized I really needed to get a better understanding of myself, my emotions, and my wellness. 2017 was a rough year that was filled with hurt, regret, sadness, and big adjustments. I felt overwhelmed and defeated; I couldn't handle it on my own so I began to seek ways to get me through it. I ended up getting into therapy and realized that aside from that, I needed to add another practice to my wellness routine. I studied and practiced yoga and meditation to create a balance and sense of wellness in my life whenever I felt like I was losing control or even my mind again. While yoga has been inconsistent for me, meditation became one of my go-to's.

After discovering yoga and meditation, I learned about my chakras and how they relate to my mental and physical being. I had no prior knowledge of what chakras were to even know that there were seven different types, and to be honest, I'm still on the journey of learning and implementing. Along the way, I discovered how to feed and be aware of my chakras, as well as balancing them. There are many ways to use the herbs in your daily life. You can fill your home with different herbs, drink tea, and use the oil from each herb in a diffuser and create the vibe you need in your home or office.

If you're looking for alignment, here are some herbs that will help balance each of your chakras:

Balancing Your Throat Chakra

I'm sure you can guess where this chakra is located. The throat chakra is blue and influences the way we communicate and express ourselves. If this element is imbalanced, it is often associated with miscommunication. On a physical note, it can be associated with sore throats and neck pain.

When Your Throat Chakra Is Unbalanced, You May Experience:

  • Difficulty expressing yourself
  • Insecurities
  • Social anxiety
  • Detachment

When Your Throat Chakra Is Balanced, You'll Experience:

  • Ability to express yourself
  • Increased creativity
  • Improved social relationships
  • Understanding of your thoughts, desires, and feelings

Herbs That Will Align The Throat

To balance this chakra, herbs lavender, rosemary, and slippery elm are extremely useful. Lavender is known for calming, it soothes the mind and encourages honesty, gentleness, and kindness. Rosemary, on the other hand, promotes insight and thoughts. Organizing our thoughts gives us a sense of clarity and helps us communicate what/how we feel.

We All Mess Up Sometimes. But Can You Trust A Friend's Apology?

Although what I mostly deal with when it comes to the clients that I have is romantic relationships, there are definitely times when other topics come up. For instance, recently, someone was talking to me about some drama that they were going through with a friend of theirs. Emotionally, they felt like they were in a bit of a bind because while, on one hand, they had been friends with this individual for over 15 years at this point, on the other, there were certain things that they had done, more than once, that were starting to take its toll.

When I asked my client if they had clearly articulated their feelings, concerns, and boundaries to that individual, they admitted that they hadn’t.
