Tamera Mowry-Housely Leaving 'The Real' Is A Reminder That You Don’t Have To Work Somewhere Forever

There's a thin line between paying your bills and pursuing your passion and I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can do boffum.

Living the life of your dreams and securing a bag are not mutually exclusive and if your professional environment is no longer serving you in that capacity, there's no shame in exploring your options, sis. Just ask Tamera Mowry-Housley, who announced that she would be ending her 7-year hosting gig at The Real to spend more time with her family and pursue new career opportunities. She wrote on Instagram:

"For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships that I've made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I've had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better. I'm so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy. However, all good things must come to an end. And it's with a bittersweet smile that I announce that I am moving on from The Real."

One of the hardest parts about leaving a job is saying goodbye to the ones who held you up while you were there and Tamera could totally relate. In the post, the star went on to thank her fellow hosts and shared her appreciation for the lifetime bond that they've managed to secure with another.

"To my fellow hosts, I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me, and loving all of me. Sisters forever. I'll be rooting for you, as I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities, and embarking on the next chapter of my life."

Tamera, who has recently decided to shift her attention to her acting career and is starring in the upcoming Hallmark movie, Christmas Carnival, is proof that although a job may be good for a season, you don't have to work anywhere forever. The announcement came only weeks after Tamera's former co-host Amanda Seales departed from the show after experiencing differences with producers. Amanda shared in an interview:

"It doesn't feel good to my soul to be at a place where I cannot speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to. And where the people who are speaking to me in disparaging ways, are not being handled. I'm not in a space where, I can as a full Black woman, have my voice and my co-workers also have their voices, and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for Black voices to be at the top, too."
