The 22-year-old Texas-based wife, mom, model, and now cooking influencer has the internet in a chokehold with her videos where she cooks everything from cereal, roasted tomato soup, ice cream, bread, pizza, mozzarella, marshmallows, and homemade donuts, all from scratch. You heard that right, from scratch!
With a following of over 4.2 million on TikTok and 1 million on Instagram, Smith has made quite the impression, leaving everyone to wonder, why does this woman need to make everything from scratch, and who tf has this kind of time? Since Nara has become an influencer to watch, there has been some controversy surrounding her videos with undertones of racism and the question of whether Smith is portraying trad wife values and encouraging her followers to become submissive housewives.

Many comments regarding Nara Smith’s age have been negative as supporters and spectators feel that she’s too young to be a wife and mom of three, soon to be four (including her husband Lucky's first child, Gravity), Nara says that her father was her deciding factor in starting a family young. In this clip, Smith shares that her dad said that he regretted having children later in life, and with that advice, she started her family young and has no regrets as she enjoyed the party life at an early age.

While the #tradwife trend is what many believe is a result of Nara’s from-scratch approach to cooking, she actually began cooking more after experiencing severe eczema, which caused her to be more selective with the ingredients she used and pursue answers for her health challenges. This led to her cooking almost everything from scratch, including her children's cereal and daily snacks. Nara shared her eczema story in a July 2023 Instagram post with a trigger warning.

Smith began modeling after being discovered at 14 years old and is currently signed to IMG Models. Her daily content on TikTok shows her day-to-day, which often includes shoots for campaigns, how she balances motherhood, and what she does to prep and wind down after shoots. With views in the millions with every post and a paid newsletter, Nara makes money through content creation on her social platforms as well.

She spent her entire childhood in Germany and her recipes are often an ode to her childhood as she shares recipes from her grandmother and mother that she often makes for dinner.

At 16, he was named Teen Vogue’s Model of The Year and has been seen in campaigns with brands such as Tom Ford and Calvin Klein. He’s also a musician and the lead drummer of a band called The Atomics he started with his three sisters who are also models.

As Smith’s videos began to go viral, almost immediately there were hot takes on Nara being a trad wife and devout Mormon as she would sometimes share that she is reading Scripture or attending church in her TikToks. That said, Nara has clarified in her GRWM that she and her husband Lucky are on their own spiritual journeys, figuring out how they want to raise their kids, and that she is in no way a "hardcore Mormon."
