Naomi Osaka is praising her boyfriend Cordae on his new album. The couple has been together for three years and during that time fans have witnessed them shower each other with support such as the rapper attending Naomi’s tennis matches to now the four-time Grand Slam champion showing love to the Grammy-nominated artist's album Bird’s Eye View on social media.
The 24-year-old posted a photo on Instagram of the couple looking cozy together on an outdoor patio along with a sweet caption.
“Getting closer to someone and seeing how much love and dedication they put into their craft is truly inspiring,” she wrote.
“Makes you feel like some people are born to do certain things, @cordae you’re a star and a light, quite literally brighten up every room you walk in (or maybe it’s your hair lol).
“Congratulations on your 2nd album, proud of you ❤️.”
Cordae, who is also 24, responded, “My MUHFUCKIN LADY !!!! I LOVE U 2 DEATH !! U TRULY MY RIDE OR DIE BONNIE AND CLYDE JUST WAY MORE FLY.”
The couple is known to be lowkey, but they opened up about their relationship during a February 2021 interview with GQ for their "Modern Lovers" issue.
“We were dating for almost a year before people knew about us,” Cordae said. “So we kind of move very reclusively. We don’t really post intimate moments, because I feel as though they’re sacred. A relationship is really a sacred thing. Once you let outside influences get into it, it becomes less sacred.”
The couple had their first date at a Clippers game and since then has been photographed together at other games including Naomi’s memorable win at the 2019 U.S. Open, which the rapper revealed was the first time he ever attended a tennis match. He also mentioned that the tennis star goes on tour with him.
“... It’s like she’s the only girl in the crew. You know how a tour bus goes: It’s me, the band, security, the homies, tour management, lights, sound engineer. You know what I’m saying? She’ll just take time out of, you know, whatever she got going on training and things of that nature to just come with us on tour for, like, two weeks at a time.”
