Forgiveness After Infidelity: Tommicus Walker & LeToya Luckett

In full, it read:

"After very prayerful consideration, Tommicus and I have decided to get a divorce. It is my deepest desire for us to be loving co-parents and keep a peaceful environment out of respect for our children. Please understand our need for privacy. Thank you in advance for your prayers, support, and space to heal as we tread through this challenging time."

Walker mirrored LeToya's sentiment, simply saying, although it was a "very difficult decision" that they will "happily remain committed as caring friends with great love and respect for one another."

From here, it gets a little messy, but Walker also addressed cheating rumors, posting on his story that he never wanted a divorce and denying that he ever cheated:

"I never wanted a divorce, but outside forces can create a lot of confusion. For the record, I never stepped out on my wife."

The pair married in December of 2017 and have two children together. Daughter Gianna is two years old and son Tyson is four months old. Tommicus has a nine-year-old daughter named Madison from a previous relationship. Despite it all, LeToya decided to move forward with the divorce, in a decision we're sure was difficult to come to.

But, Tommicus is not giving up without a fight.

His plea came just a week after LeToya was living her best life and celebrating her 40th birthday on an all-girls trip to Cancun. And in a typical play out of the 'cheating man's manual', fans speculated that seeing how happy or unbothered the singer was while away, is what drove him to miss her the most (sidebar: men, why TF are y'all like this? *eye roll*).

Any who, after all the press over Walker's public plea, our girl seemingly responds with a simple Instagram post of her own:

Welp. *sips tea*

You know, while writing this, I spent some time thinking about why men choose to embarrass their spouses, and then instead of giving them the space to self-heal, they decide to selfishly ask for an unwarranted reconciliation, as if it's some grand romantic gesture where she'll fall madly back in love in their arms and ride off into the sunset, or some shit. Ultimately, I blame society, because oftentimes, this does happen. And because oftentimes men think all women operate on the same wavelength, they tell themselves that "this is a good idea, this is what women love."

I don't know the science behind it, but it's there.

And listen, at the end of the day, this is LeToya's marriage, therefore this is also her divorce. Or maybe she’ll choose to forgive, and work through her marriage—that’s OK too. 

Because as a supportive, empowering platform, we'll more-than-gladly rally behind her and accept whatever decision she decides to make. Life is messy. Love is messy. We're all doing the best we can.
