4 Reasons Getting Fired Can Actually Be A Blessing in Disguise

Real talk, getting fired or laid off can be a blessing in disguise. I know what you're thinking right now: How on earth is getting laid off or FIRED, a blessing? Trust me, I completely understand but God has a way of molding even rejection into a major win. In fact, let's take a step back and assess.

Whether you've been fired, laid off, or recently rejected from something you thought was meant for you, here are a few things to keep in mind when adversity hits you in the face:

Most of us young, career-driven millennial women know what we want, how we have to get it, and the sacrifices it'll take to get there. However, sometimes we become so laser-focused on perfection that if something pops up (like a lay off), we get flustered and are unable to think clearly.
Remember with every misstep, you are failing forward, even if you don't see it right away. Instead of thinking that a loss is an obstacle or hurdle that's happening to you, looking at it as an opportunity to learn something changes the outcome.
This lesson can be a bit painful, but you'll always walk away better in the long run. And honestly, we all need those genuine wakeup calls to get us all the way together!

Can you imagine how many entrepreneurs have surpassed their own expectations, simply because they were let go of from their 9-5? Or how many people finally got to invest the time, energy, and resources back into themselves now that they didn't have to go to a job they absolutely despised?
When you take away the fear of the money (which is a very real, and very valid fear), you understand that sometimes letting go and trusting the Universe allows you to see things in a bigger picture.
Maybe that job wasn't good for you, or the people there didn't serve you to prosper. Perhaps God was blocking you from a bigger obstacle you would have hit down the road, that you now were avoiding because He removed you. You never know!
You learn that you already have everything within you to be alright.

While you can feel devastated in the moment, fully surrendering your wants and abandoning your plans is the best thing you can do. You can get so caught up in your head that you miss the fluidity of your life, and ultimately, how God is trying to lead you.
Girl, sometimes He just has to step in and set you straight! You will see that you already know the next steps and the next thing to do. It's already working in your favor!

I'm not saying these lessons can only come through rejection, but if you take everything that happens to you and understand that it's all making you a better person, you won't see situations like getting laid off or even fired as a step back or a low blow.
Instead, search for the good. That way of thinking has the power to get you on the step, a new path, and on to achieving all your goals. Because sistas know that we may take a break, but we're definitely going to keep strutting our stuff!
There are so many blessings that await you on the other side of fear. No matter what obstacles come your way, understand that you're already a winner and destined for greatness!
