12 Essentials Every Solo Traveler Needs In Their Bag

Let me let you in on a little secret... Solo travel is where it's at. If you like to do things on your own time and want to avoid group disagreements about when and where to go and what to do, then it may be time to give solo travel a try. I've only done it twice, but what I enjoy the most about it is I get to vacation my way. I like excursions and having new experiences, but when I think about vacation, only one word comes to mind, relaxation. Waking up extra earlier so that everyone can make it on time to an excursion is not the move. I'm trying to sleep in, go to the spa, lay out on the beach, or on a yacht, you know, rich auntie vibes.

While I can't rave enough about solo travel, there are some things to consider. For starters, you are by yourself and most likely in a foreign place, and so it's important to always be safe. If you're like my parents, who freak out at the thought of me traveling alone, or if you've been thinking about doing it but are hesitant because of safety reasons, don't worry. We got you!

Below I've listed 12 essentials every solo traveler needs. These essentials cover everything from safety to unexpected issues that can arise.

At the end of the day, it's all about being proactive.
