It never fails. Winter comes, and a little voice in our heads encourages us naturalistas everywhere to straighten our hair. Maybe it's the desire to look "more formal" at upcoming galas and soirees, topped with the confidence that we won't go from sleek to poof as typically risked during hotter months. Or perhaps it's just too cold to go through with our regular air-dry routines.

Either way, we straighten, and for the most part, we regret.

The lasting heat damage gives us few options other than limp ends or an unanticipated haircut. This year I say, "No more!" And in honor of that, I've compiled 6 ways to stretch your hair using less heat than traditional straightening:

How To Straighten Hair Without Heat Damage

1.Wand Curls On Natural Hair

Go for bouncy curls that are a bit more sleek than a traditional wash-n-go by creating wand curls on blow dried hair. Although this technique requires use of a heat tool, the curls can be achieved using a low setting. This way, you won't feel obligated to damage your hair to achieve a bone-straight look.
